New South Wales has been battered by torrential rain, raging floods and destructive winds.
The system that dumped 300 millimetres on Byron Bay, has now made its way south – lashing Newcastle and Sydney.
One street at Lake Macquarie bore the brunt of a ferocious downpour – with homes flooded in minutes.
