‘BOIL WATER’ ALERT FOR SINGLETON
A boil water alert has been issued for Glade, Gowrie, Maison Dieu and Hambledon Hill residents following sampling results after recent heavy rainfall.
Water carters are advised the standpipe at Maison Dieu is also closed until further notice.
Locals are advised that water is unsafe to drink and should follow the advice of NSW Health.
Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil to make safe.
It should then be allowed to cool and stored in a clean container with a lid and refrigerated.
The boil water alert will remain in place until sampling results show water is safe for drinking, and in consultation with NSW Health.
Council staff door-knocked affected residences last night and are working to notify the Maison Dieu industrial area.
The Boil Water Alert has been recommended as a precaution.
If you drank the water before hearing the advice, the risk of becoming ill is low.
However, anyone who experiences any ill health, please seek medical advice.
