Dentists are urging sportspeople to wear a mouthguard this winter season.
The Australian Dental Association says while 40 per cent of dental injuries are sport-related, only a third of players wear a mouthguard.
Contact sports such as hockey, rugby, snowboarding and soccer are among the worst for these injuries.
