CRACKS FOUND ON LIGHT RAIL TRACK
Cracks have been found along Newcastle’s light rail track, just a year after the service began operating.
It’s meant trams have been temporarily reduced to 10 kilometres an hour near Worth Place and Civic.
Transport for New South Wales stresses the service will continue as normal, and there’s no risk to the safety of customers and staff.
The organisation says builder Downer EDI is looking at ways to repair the track.
