The body of a man was pulled from the water at Mid North Coast beach last night.
Emergency services were called to Diamond Beach just after 6 o’clock, after being told a man was unconscious in the water.
The 38-year-old was swimming with family and friends when he and a female friend got caught in a rip.
The woman was able to be rescued and taken to shore by a third man.
The unconcious man was pulled from the water and given CPR by witnesses until police and paramedics arrived.
Sadly, he died at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
