POLICE PURSUIT NEAR MUSWELLBROOK
A Broken Hill woman will face Muswellbrook court today charged with 29 offences, after a police pursuit in the Hunter last night.
Police were patrolling the New England Highway at Blandford, at around 6 o’clock last night, when they tried to pull over the driver of a Great Wall utility vehicle.
A pursuit began when the woman failed to stop, but ended soon after.
The vehicle was found sometime later parked in a carpark at Murrurundi.
The 27-year-old unlicensed driver was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.
She was charged with 29 offences, including reckless driving, using an unregistrable vehicle, failure to submit to a breath test, and obtaining goods suspected of being stolen.
The woman also allegedly used mailbox stickers from a hardware store to change the car’s number plates.
