Police have seized two firearms, drugs and more than $12,000 in cash after raiding a home at Belmont South this morning.
Detectives from Strike Force Raptor North pounced just after 2am, finding two pistols, ammunition, electronic equipment and drugs believed to be methamphetamine.
The cash was found hidden inside a freezer.
A 38-year-old man allegedly fled the home, before being tracked down and arrested with the assistance of the police dog unit.
He faced Newcastle Local Court and was refused bail.
A 23-year-old woman was arrested and released, pending further inquiries.
