SEASONS OF NEW ENGLAND CANCELLED AMID LATEST CORONAVIRUS UPDATES

Following advice from the Federal Government that gatherings of over 500 people be cancelled, the Seasons of New England expo has been given the boot.

The popular Uralla event, which attracted almost 5,000 people last year, was scheduled for March 28.

The New Englander rail experience, which was set to bring in tourists from Sydney and Newcastle, has also had its services cancelled.

“It’s a really, really successful event in Uralla and it’s really sad for that to be a victim of the coronavirus, particularly for all the local producers that were exhibiting their produce at the fair, making sales, making contacts.”

Organisers say they will be creating a “virtual” expo online, to build support for local businesses who were set to take part.
