Keepit Dam made its first water release, in more than a year, yesterday.
100 megalitres flowed out, replenishing domestic supplies for landholders located between the dam and the junction of the Peel and Namoi Rivers.
The water release will also refresh river pools, helping to prevent fish kills.
Keepit Dam is currently at 12-and-a-half per cent of capacity.
