ALLEGED DRINK DRIVERS FINED FOR BREACHING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
In two separate incidents last night, a Budgewoi man and a North Gosford man were charged with high-range drink driving and not complying with COVID-19 directions.
Around 11pm, a man was stopped by police at Budgewoi, after throwing multiple pieces of clothing out of his car, while allegedly driving dangerously.
Police say he blew three-and-a-half times over the blood alcohol limit, returning a reading of 0.178.
The 49-year-old was taken to Toukley police station where he was unable to provide a reasonable excuse as to why he was away from his residence.
He was let out on bail to appear at Wyong Local Court in June.
In a similar scenario earlier that night, around 8:40pm, a man driving along Yarramalong Road at Wyong Creek was stopped for a random breath test.
The 27-year-old allegedly blew four times over the blood alcohol limit, returning a reading of 0.2.
The North Gosford man was also unable to give a reasonable excuse for disobeying the public health act.
On conditional bail, he is due to appear at Wyong Local Court at the end of this month.
