Newcastle Council has opened applications for local community groups and charities affected by COVID-19 to receive up to $30, 000 to support a project.
More than half a million dollars will go to Newcastle’s most vulnerable and emerging at-risk community sector groups, including not-for-profits, non-government organisations, for-profit service providers and charities that directly support community health.
Groups can apply via the council website, and applications will close on June 30.
The City of Newcastle has waived interest penalties on rates until June 30, 2021 and is also providing supporting businesses and residents to develop payment plans.
