A man has faced court, charged over a fatal crash at Kotara.
Police allege the 27-year-old was behind the wheel of a Nissan Navara that collided head on with a Toyota Camry on Park Avenue yesterday.
The 58-year-old woman driving the Toyota later died in John Hunter Hospital.
The man is due to reappear in Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
