Drivers heading away for Christmas are being reminded that double demerit points come into force in New South Wales from midnight.
The holiday roads operation runs right through until the 2nd of January.
Double demerits will apply to all offences, including speeding, using a mobile phone while driving, and failing to wear a seatbelt.
