ALLEGED DRUNK DRIVER ROLLS CAR AT LAKE MACQUARIE

A 30-year-old man has been charged with mid-range drink driving after his car rolled just metres away from homes at Belmont North last night.

It’s alleged the man was speeding along Floraville Road at Floraville just after 5pm, when he allegedly overtook other vehicles.

He lost control of his vehicle, fishtailing and hitting the curb before the car rolled.

On arrival, police spoke to the man, who allegedly told police he was going too fast, lost control, slid and hit a tree.

He was breath tested, and returned a positive reading.

The 30-year-old was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he gave a reading of 0.085.

He was charged with several offences, and his licence was immediately suspended.
