Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will upgrade three old timber bridges on Comboyne Road, west of Wauchope.
The bridges across Hyndmans, Hartys and Bulli Creeks will be demolished and replaced with concrete.
Speed reductions will be in place next week, while vegetation clearing is done at Hyndmans Creek.
Construction of the new bridges will start next year.
