A man in his 70s has died after being hit by a truck at Kurri Kurri this morning.
Emergency services were called to Lang Street just after 7am to help revive the man, but he died at the scene.
The truck driver was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
A crime scene has been established and Lang Street remains closed between Mitchell Avenue and Greta Street, as investigations continue.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
