BETTER THAN EXPECTED RESULTS FOR DEVIL ARK

A project to raise a healthy population of Tasmanian devils, free of a deadly facial tumour disease is getting better than expected results.
The Devil Ark project in the Barrington Tops has reported a total of 40 baby devils born this year.
While they appear cute, the animals are raised in free range enclosures to help ensure they retain their wild traits.
The wild population in Tasmania is still being decimated and it’s hoped the Devil Ark project may one day be used to help repopulate Tasmania once the disease has been eradicated.
