MAN ACCUSED OF LIGHTING DEADLY HOUSEFIRE HAS CASE ADJOURNED

The man accused of murdering two people in a deadly house fire in Tamworth last year has had his court case adjourned until June.
Richard George Sands will remain behind bars for another month, after Magistrate Julie Soars granted detectives more time to gather evidence.
Officers allege, Sands deliberately lit the fire in the early hours of October 17 – killing an elderly woman and young boy.
Another woman and child were also injured in the incident.
Sands is yet to make any pleas and didn’t apply for bail.
