WOMAN HIT BY PORT STEPHENS BUS DIED SAVING BABY

Witnesses say the mother fatally struck by a Port Stephens bus in Sydney, died saving the baby who was in her arms.

Distraught family and friends say they want the little girl to grow up celebrating her mother’s courage.

An 11-year-old girl was on the Port Stephens bus that hit and killed her mother and just missed her baby sister yesterday in Sydney’s North.

The woman was hit by the bus while crossing the road with her 11-month-old baby girl.

The baby was uninjured but the 38-year-old woman died at the scene.

The Port Stephens bus was carrying primary school students returning home after a camp at Tea Gardens.

The 69-year-old driver has been interviewed and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
