HYDROPONIC CANNABIS SET-UP UNCOVERED FOLLOWING DUNGOG DV CALL-OUT
Police have uncovered an elaborate hydroponic cannabis set-up following an alleged domestic violence incident, near Dungog.
Late Thursday afternoon, police received a domestic-related complaint from a home at Lowe Street in Clarence Town.
A 39-year-old woman greeted officers at the home, but the man had fled the scene.
He was later found at Lemon Tree Passage in a Holden Commodore, where he was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrance Police Station.
Police later searched the Lowe Street home, uncovering an extensive hydroponic set-up contained within an internal room.
They seized cannabis plants in various stages of growth, including 24 seedlings, 19 small plants, and 24 mature plants.
When returning to the property on Friday, police also found firearms ammunition.
The man was charged with 10 offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, cultivating prohibited plants and possessing prohibited drugs.
He fronted Raymond Terrance Local Court on Friday.
