GRASS ROOTS AFL RETURNS TO TRAINING

Hunter aussie rules clubs have been given the green light to return to training.

Groups of up to 10 players are allowed, as long as they meet COVID-19 protocols.

“They need to have a Covid safety officer appointed at their club, who needs to do an online course and small groups of up to 10 players at a time in a group. Being AFL and larger fields, we can fit three groups of 10 on a field,” said Simon Smyth, AFL’s Northern NSW Regional Manager.

AFL Hunter Central Coast met with clubs last night to break the news, with excitement building about getting back on the park.

“They’re looking forward to getting back into training, they can’t wait to get back into the games and the exciting thing for us is the local AFL season is getting closer to being here.”
