CATTLE AND SHEEP PRODUCERS LEFT OUT OF BUSHFIRE RECOVERY GRANTS

The New South Wales Farmers Association says it’s feeling left out of the State Governments $140-million Bushfire Industry Recovery Package.
Dairy farmers, fruit growers and forestry businesses can apply for a one-off payment of up to $75 000, but the Farming Association says cattle and sheep producers are not eligible for the grants.
The Minister for Regional New South Wales, John Barilaro says he’s working on it.
“70 million towards the timber industry which has really felt it but then their is money there for horticulture, for dairy, viticulture and of course some of those other programs could be available for beef and cattle farmers so we will look at that. We are working with the federal government.”
