CYCLISTS CALL FOR SAFETY UPGRADE AT CRASH SCENE

Cyclists are calling for upgrades to a tricky road crossing in Gosford.
There are concerns about visibility, where users come off the Brian McGowan Bridge and onto a shared path near the Central Coast Highway.
It’s after a 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries, struck by a minibus while he was riding near Riou Street earlier this month.
“The speed limit is 70 kilometres an hour,” Central Coast Bicycle User Group’s Alan Corven said.
“So speed kills. We know that. So slowing the cars down to 50 would make a big difference to the likelihood of an incident.”
A raised crossings has also been suggested.
