MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED THREATS, FIREARM AND DRUG POSSESSION
A Lake Macquarie man has been charged with threatening the New South Wales Police Minister, David Elliott, online.
Police began an investigation on Sunday, after reports a 49-year-old man was receiving threatening messages.
Investigators searched a home at Belmont just before 4pm yesterday, where they found cannabis, medication without a prescription, two gel blasters and ammunition.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Belmont Police Station, and the items were taken for forensic tests.
The man faces several charges, including possessing a prohibited drug and possessing an unauthorised, prohibited firearm.
He’ll appear at Belmont Local Court on July 20.
