NARRABRI GAS PROJECT IN FINAL STAGES OF APPROVAL

Mining giant Santos could be given the go-ahead on its Narrabri Gas Project in a matter of weeks.

The New South Wales Department of Planning has now released its final assessment report to the Independent Planning Commission.

It recommends the project is capable of conditional approval.

The report will be considered by the IPC over the next 12 weeks and will involve a number of public hearings.

The Narrabri Gas Project would see an underground pipeline constructed, potentially providing up to half the state’s natural gas requirements.
