MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER WOMAN’S BODY FOUND IN METFORD HOME

A man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found at a home in the Hunter this morning.

Shortly before 1:30am, police were called to a home on Galway Crescent at Metford.

Officers located a body of an 18-year-old woman deceased inside the home.

A 20-year-old man outside the house was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station.

Police believe the pair are known to each other.

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
