SORGHUM DRIVE RAISES THOUSANDS FOR CHOPPER

Sorghum might be just another grain, but for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter it plays a pivotal role in the lifesaving service’s fundraising.
This year’s sorghum drive has seen more than 300 tonnes of grain donated by farmers across the Liverpool Plains.
“The farming and agriculture community around here really dig deep when they can and help the service out and a few bags of sorghum here and there obviously adds up to a lot.”
The sorghum will now be sold, and is expected to raise around $80,000 for the rescue helicopter.
