HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY FOR HUNTER, MID COAST
The State Emergency Service is encouraging Hunter and Mid North Coast residents to prepare for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in the region this weekend.
New South Wales SES Northern Zone Deputy Commander Tony Day said “Currently there is some uncertainty about the location of the system, however it’s likely to bring the possibility of riverine and localised flash flooding as we move into next week.”
Residents are being asked to trim trees around their properties, clean roofs, gutters and downpipes, and secure down outdoor items in preparation.
The service also recommends people monitor the state’s Bureau of Meteorology website for severe weather warnings.
