JETTY BEACH COPS A KELPING
Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Beach has borne the brunt of last week’s heavy seas with masses of kelp dumped on its shore.
The giant seaweed was torn off reefs and rocks along Muttonbird Island by swells of up to seven metres.
In some places the kelp is more than a metre deep.
It’s the largest deposit ever seen on the beach and already it is starting to smell.
