Greyhound Racing New South Wales has bought a patch of land in the Hunter Valley to transform into a retirement home for ex-race dogs.
It says the facility, believed to be a world first, will save up to 400 dogs from unnecessary euthanasia.
It will be managed by vets and behavioural experts, giving lifetime care to those that can’t be re-homed.
It’s expected to be up and running by next year.
