RAIN EASES NORTH COAST BUSHFIRE THREAT

A bushfire that had been threatening homes at Kremnos
in northern NSW has been downgraded to watch-and-act.
Overnight rain and cooler conditions have helped firefighters strengthen
containment lines.
Three homes have been destroyed – and over the weekend three people were lucky to escape flames which closed in on a rural property, south of Grafton, with the Rural Fire Service airlifting them to safety.
