GEMA SIMON TO LEAD W-LEAGUE JETS

She’s been a part of the Newcastle squad since the inception of the W-League, and this season Gema Simon will wear the captain’s armband.
“It’s exciting, it’s a privilege, I’m going to embrace it hopefully lead by example.”
Hannah Brewer will be vice captain, in a young squad that’s lost high profile players Hayley Crawford and Emily van Egmond.
There’s still a handful of girls with top flight experience, including Tara Andrews, Stacey Day and keeper Eliza Campbell.
“It will be tough this season but I think a lot of it will come down to belief, the girls have to believe they’re good enough, they’re in the squad for a reason.”
