Starting tomorrow, Glen Innes Council will implement level three water restrictions.
Restrictions are being tightened due to a continued lack of rainfall in the catchment area.
The Beardy Weir has dropped 290 millimetres below full supply over the last month.
Under the new restrictions, residents are not permitted to use sprinklers.
Work continues at the quarry to create off stream storage, in an effort to drought proof the town.
