CENTRAL COAST COUNCIL TO PURSUE EROSION WORK COST

Central Coast Council will write to the Premier seeking funds for coastal protection works at North Entrance Beach.
Seven thousand tonnes of rocks were laid to sure up its dunes and those at Wamberal Beach during wild storms last July.
The state government reimbursed council nearly $1 million for its emergency response at Wamberal, but North Entrance was knocked back due to the site not holding a certified Coastal Zone Management Plan.
Council says it applied for the document’s approval four times between 2011 and 2018.
