FUNDING ALLOCATED FOR KOALA PARK’S FIRST EUCALYPT PLANTATION
Plans are officially underway for the first eucalypt plantation at Gunnedah’s new Koala Park.
Gunnedah Shire Council this week voted to reallocate $60,000 from Farmer Army projects to facilitate the planting.
The funding will also ensure a food supply for the park’s koalas.
Two locations have been finalised for eucalypt plantations, following the advice from an environmental consultant.
One will be at the Oxley Highway Koala Park Site and the other, at the Gunnedah Soil Conservation Research Station on the Kamilaroi Highway.
