COUNCIL RESPONDS FOLLOWING MARSUPIAL PARK VOLUNTEERS’ RESIGNATION

Tamworth Regional Council says it reluctantly supports a decision to disband the ‘Friends of Marsupial Park’ volunteer group.

All 12 volunteers walked off the job last month, due to ongoing disagreements with Council and the Department of Primary Industries.

Council has agreed to hold more than $11,000 in the group’s account, for an upgrade to the park’s barbeque area.

It’s also forging ahead with plans to formally acknowledge their work, after 10 years of service to the park.
