FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO SPEND $15 MILLION ON FAST RAIL PLANS

The federal government will spend a further $15 million to create a faster train service between Newcastle and Sydney.

Funds will be used to finalise the cost and timing of work along the rail corridor, including on the Central Coast.

The project is expected to be finished by 2023.

$20 million was previously allocated in 2017 for the development of business cases into fast rail.
