MAN FACES COURT OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL OFFENCES
A man has been arrested over several alleged sexual offences involving children near the Newcastle Baths yesterday afternoon.
Aound 3pm, police attended the Baths on Shortland Esplanade, after reports a man at the beach had allegedly exposed himself to a group of boys in the changeroom area.
The man left the baths a short time later and security at the baths notified police.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man, and he was taken to Newcastle Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of intentionally doing a sexual act with child between 10 and 16, carrying out a sexual act with another without consent and wilful and obscene exposure.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
