DOG OWNERS WARNED TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR GRASS SEEDS

Dog owners are being warned to keep an eye out for grass seeds this spring.

Tamworth vets have been pulling a large number of the pesky seeds from dozens of paws, ears and tails in recent months.

The seeds can cause severe discomfort for dogs and eventually lead to infection, if not removed.

Symptoms include sore paws or shaking the head.
