From midday tomorrow, Wingham will no longer have a Commonwealth Bank A-T-M.
The branch temporarily shut in May due to COVID-19, but the closure was made permanent earlier this month.
Residents have started an online petition, calling on the bank to change its mind, and they’re being supported by Federal Member, David Gillespie.
“It is disappointing because we like people employed in these regional centres the services will be delivered through Australia post outlets and by ATMs but it’s not the same as having a human being to talk to.”
The closest commonwealth bank is 12 kilometres away in Taree.
