ADMINISTRATOR LOOKS INTO WARNERVALE AIRPORT
Central Coast Council’s administrator has not ruled out an expansion of Warnervale Airport, during his first visit to the site.
It was one of several drop-ins he made today, acquainting himself with issues likely to be on council’s agenda.
A law restricting aircraft movements and runway length looks set to be repealed in state parliament.
If it’s axed, council would take the reins to decide its future.
“I think it may not be something that a decision happen within my time,” Dick Persson said.
“But I’m looking at the issue in case there’s an opportunity.”
The administrator will deliberate on tree trimming near the runway soon, to balance environmental needs with aircraft safety.
