Starting January, Hunter Street Mall will come alive at night twice a month.
Lord Mayor Jeff McCloy has announced the New South Wales Farmers Markets have been selected to operate two Friday night events each month.
“This is great news for the CBD and Newcastle in general,” Mr McCloy said.
“The night markets will add to the diversity of experiences in the city and open up this area to a whole new demographic in the evening.”
The night markets are expected to feature between 80 to 100 stallholders, selling fresh produce as well as a range of hand made goods.
