CAVES BEACH PADDLEBOARDER CLAIMS WA TITLE

Caves Beach-bred stand-up paddleboarding world champion Michael Booth, has claimed the King of the Cut in Western Australia.

The 2019 runner-up went one better over the weekend, beating his nearest rival by 13 minutes.

“I’ve been doing this since about 2014 so it’s cool to get my first win. I think the conditions were probably best ever, like it’s really strong wind out there like if you’re a downwind guy you really love these type of conditions.”

The ninth edition of the 24-kilometre race featured a more diverse field, including a record 19 wing foil competitors.
