YOUNG CHILD RUN OVER BY LAWN MOWER AT CLARENCE TOWN
Paramedics say it’s lucky a Hunter Valley child who was run over by a ride-on lawn mower at Clarence Town this morning, escaped with only leg injures.
Emergency services were called to the home on Sherriff Street at 9:30 this morning.
NBN News understands the 2-year-old boy had been inside the home and had run outside to meet a family member in the moments before he was struck.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before he was flown to a Sydney hospital for further treatment.
NSW Ambulance Inspector, Jasons Saper, said the boy was lucky to escape, alive.
“These types of incidents can be extremely complex and it shows just how quickly any situation can change.”
“Bystanders did a fantastic job assisting him until paramedics arrived.”
“Paramedics were able to work together with other emergency services under these challenging conditions to do everything they can for the young boy.”
Jane Goldsmith will have more details in the news tonight at 6pm.
