ELECTIVE SURGERY WAIT LISTS JUMP ON COAST

Elective surgery wait lists ballooned on the Central Coast between July and September this year.

The latest Bureau of Health Information statistics show nearly 5,000 patients were waiting on procedures – up by more than 1,000 on last year.

Meanwhile, timely emergency department treatments increased by 15 per cent, following a drop in presentations.
