RESIDENTS FLAG RATE RISE PROTESTS

Residents have hinted they’ll soon take to the streets to prevent a 10 per cent rate increase on the Central Coast.
More than 400 people have joined the Protest Against Extreme Rates Facebook page, with members expected to mobilise in the coming weeks.
If approved by IPART, the move would recoup $17 million for the struggling council, which is on track for a $115 million loss this financial year.
Administrator, Dick Persson has attributed Central Coast Council’s issues to poor management of its money, including the illegal use of restricted funds.
