DRUGS, WEAPON AND STOLEN GOODS SEIZED IN TAMWORTH
Two people will front Tamworth Local Court today after police seized drugs, a weapon and stolen goods.
Strike Force Kunderbung was established in October to investigate an organised drug supply network operating between Tamworth and the Central Coast.
A 38-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the home in West Tamworth and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal, deal with property proceeds of crime, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and two counts possess prohibited drug.
The woman, was charged with three counts possess prohibited drug, three counts goods suspected stolen in/on premises, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and drive vehicle illicit drug in blood etc.
They were both refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.
Investigators also executed three search warrants at Manilla, Barraba and Tamworth on Friday October 2.
During the searches, police seized an electronic stun device and prescription medication at the Tamworth home.
Three men, aged 51 and two aged 46, were arrested last Wednesday – they remain before the courts.
On Wednesday December 9, officers executed a second search warrant at a home on Maxwell Street, where they seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, an allegedly stolen sports medal, mobile phones, a watch, $650 cash and four sets of electric scales.
Inquiries are continuing.
