RELATIVE STEPS FORWARD TO CLAIM LOST WAR MEDALS

After NBN News reported on two lost war medals earlier this week, a family member of the late Private Frank Ernest Burkitt has come forward.

The medals were found in a blue satin box at a bus stop in The Entrance in September.

The New Zealand woman who came forward claims the World War I soldier was her father’s cousin and hopes to claim them if no local relatives come forward.
