HUNTER WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SENDING THREATENING MESSAGES TO SYDNEY’S CHANNEL 10

A Hunter woman has pleaded guilty to sending threatening social media messages to Channel 10 in Sydney.
Argenton local Rachel Scobez fronted Newcastle Local Court court today after being charged by counter terrorism police over the threat.
According to police, the television network received threatening messages from Scobez on Sunday, regarding a particular story it had broadcast.
An investigation, headed by the High Risk Terrorist Offenders Unit, lead officers to a unit complex at Mayfield on Monday, where the 26-year-old was arrested.
Investigators seized Scobez’s mobile phone, which underwent forensic examination.
She was then charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
She’ll remain behind bars and is due to be sentenced in Newcastle Local Court on January 28.
Authorities urge anyone with information about extremist activity or possible threats to the community to come forward, no matter how small or insignificant you may think the information may be.
