NEW ENGINE FOR WILLIAM THE FOURTH REPLICA

A new engine, that should give the William the Fourth replica a new lease on life, was lowered by crane into the ship in Newcastle this afternoon.
It was a tight fit for the 315-horsepower powerplant, but after two attempts, success.
“this has been a long time coming, we’ve been working for nearly six years to get to this stage, so a very significant day for William the fourth.”
The $500,00 project will allow the bicentenary replica of Australia’s first ocean-going steam vessel to return to the harbour as a cruise ship.
